Hiking the "M"

Today was a good day.  After work I decided it would be nice to spend some time outdoors, even though there were several threatening clouds gathering over our head.  I drove over to a very popular hiking spot because unlike other people in Bozeman I do not feel comfortable going off into the woods all by myself.  I have heard enough stories about bear attacks and mountain lion sightings to keep my adventurous spirit under control.  I chose the semi-easy way up, which turned out to be pretty hard due to the fact that my body has gone into some sort of hibernation and is determined to rebel against any attempts of physical activity.  I took it slow though, enjoying the breaks and admiring the view.

On our way down Bella found a little trail and I followed her.  It eventually connected to the main one.  Half way down I heard someone running behind me, it was an older women, she said:  "do you realize people are trying very hard to stop people from using the wild trails".  I guessed she was referring to the short cut I had just taken.  She is lucky she caught me on my nice day.  I wanted to be rude at first but decided not to waist my breath.  I told her that there are no signs saying that the trail is closed or should not be used.  She mumbled something under her breath that sounded like "oh, it must have gotten knocked down".  I said "yeah it must have".  I wished her a nice evening and started down hill, while she was still having a conversation with me.

Now that I think about it the trail was no very "user friendly".  But maybe if someone cares that much about it they can put up a sing.  Anyway, the whole point of this outing was to start getting into shape for our freshly arrived summer time.  But after my encounter I feel somewhat guilty and embarrassed and considering having a couple of spoon fulls of Coffee ice cream.  Also, now I will be paranoid thinking that I am breaking some rules or damaging the great outdoors. Thank you Lady who means well, maybe you should wear my swim suite this summer.
